Big Love
Goals

Big Love, Community Animal Outreach strives to aid and support all tame or wild animals. This includes transportation to hospitals and rescue groups, financial assistance to individual or local rescue groups, food bank support, obtaining foster homes for unwanted pets, and community education programs.

Big Love strongly supports low to no cost spay and neuter programs. For the protection of wildlife & our environment, Big Love strongly supports the practice of keeping wildlife wild and protected from unsupervised domestic animals.

Big Love holds food and supply drives for rescue groups in order to not only help the animals, but to also relieve some pressure for the rescuers themselves. Please see our calendar for the next drive and other events.

Volunteer Highlight

Rachel

Meet Big Love Champion, Rachel! Rachel is a pediatric speech language pathologist from Indialantic, Fl. Rachel helps Big Love with socializing new intake animals, taming stray kittens, TNR-trapping/spaying/neutering and returning to field of stray/feral cats in order to keep population under control, and staffing fundraising events. When asked what inspired her to get involved with Big Love, she said it was the post of a terribly abused, neglected cat named Scooter that she saw on our Facebook page. Rachel called and started spending time loving on Scooter in order to calm her down and speed up the healing process. Abused animals, like people, heal faster in a warm, calm, loving environment. It can take a long time for some abused animals to be calm around humans again, so this type of volunteering is extremely helpful. Once Scooter stabilized, Rachel jumped into helping in other areas, as her busy schedule allows, and Big Love really appreciates it!!
